Waste not Want not is a horticultural based social enterprise and community interest company which rescues plants and horticultural materials from landfill.

We use horticulture as a therapeutic tool to assist in helping the homeless, ex addicts, ex offenders, socially excluded and disadvantaged persons, together with the community at large.

We propagate and pot on shrubs, trees, plants and bedding which can be purchased from our nursery at our Roebuck Site on the B197 between Stevenage and Knebworth (just south of The Roebuck Inn).

Our second site is at The Learning Garden in the north car park at

The Galleria, Hatfield.

We also create and maintain gardens and green spaces for individuals, charities, schools, churches, businesses and local authorities.

Our labour force comprises volunteers from all sections of society who enjoy horticultural activities and who seek to extend their social network as well as doing some good in the community.

We are seeking projects where we can use our skills and materials. These are performed at very advantageous and economic rates.

The Roebuck site is open every Sunday between 10 -4pm but if our gates are open, please come in and look around.

The Learning Garden is currently open on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10-2pm but anytime our gates are open, please come in.
